The fifth series of the British medical drama television series ''Casualty'' commenced airing in the United Kingdom on BBC One on 7 September 1990 and finished on 7 December 1990.〔(IMDB Casualty Series 5 )〕

Continuing into Series 5 were nurses Charlie Fairhead (Derek Thompson), Megan Roach (Brenda Fricker), Lisa "Duffy" Duffin (Cathy Shipton), paramedics Josh Griffiths (Ian Bleasdale) and Keith Cotterill (Geoffrey Leesley) and porter Jimmy Powell (Robson Green).
Joining the regular cast were registrar Julian Chapman (Nigel Le Vaillant),
senior house officer Beth Ramanee (Mamta Kaash), staff nurse Martin "Ash" Ashford (Patrick Robinson), paramedic Jane Scott (Caroline Webster), receptionist Helen Green (Maggie McCarthy) and social worker Tony Walker (Eamon Boland).
